PCCF OFFICE
- Built Up Area - 78,000 SQ. FT. | Type of Project - Institutional
The Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PCCF) Office in Itanagar is envisioned as both an administrative hub and a symbol of ecological stewardship. Drawing from the vernacular traditions of Arunachal Pradesh, the design employs locally sourced timber and stone to create a warm, sustainable, and contextually rooted elevation.
Sloping roofs with steep pitches and deep eaves respond to the region’s heavy monsoons, while shaded verandas and natural ventilation enhance climate comfort. Exposed beams, carved motifs, and latticework celebrate indigenous craftsmanship, weaving cultural identity into the architecture.
Modern sustainability features – such as solar panels, rainwater harvesting, and passive cooling – are seamlessly integrated, ensuring environmental responsibility. The result is a building that balances tradition with contemporary needs, standing as a landmark of cultural pride and ecological commitment for Arunachal Pradesh.
