Kapoor House is located in Professor Colony, a posh area in Agra. The program envisages the uniqueness of the location, the relation to the nature and the built environment. The old house with its simple look and facades expresses the familiar image of Kapoors. The monolithic building with its strong presence in the property, surrounded by age-old trees and lush green garden demands a sensitive design approach. The new created volume is connected through new openings in the existing façade merging the interior spaces between old and new. A double-height atrium with glazed window provides day light to the central part of the ground floor and a panoramic staircase is going to the floor above. The façades have the same plaster structure and white color therefore the disposition between old and new is displayed by the volume composition of terraces. On the second floor is located a small “belvedere” open air garden with an amazing view. The client had an interest in movie making. Therefore, the living area of the house has been proposed as a movie set providing various movies making
